Priyanka denies Shahid link-up!

April 21, 2010, (Sawf News) – Priyanka Chopra took to her Twitter account on April 21 to deny that she and Shahid Kapoor  are an item once again.

Responding to a Mid Day report that they had hooked up again, Priyanka tweeted.

“I’m almost scared to tweet nething(sic) now cause of journos and their overactive imaginations who make up stories by just presuming my mindframe.”

We take that as a denial, though she wasn’t being specific…Not that she ever acknowledged being with Shahid.

Considering that the Mid Day report was based on nothing more than their reporter’s feeling that the two had lately sounded lovelorn on Twitter, we didn’t consider it even good rumor mongering, let alone good reporting.

But hey! Nothing wrong in denying it!

Deepika opens up about Siddarth Mallaya!

 One catches Deepika Padukone in a fiery mood. And rightly so. Right after a very public break up with Ranbir Kapoor, she has found herself in the midst of one rumour after another. Whether it was her alleged proximity to Farhan Akhtar during the making of Karthik Calling Karthik (something which was rubbished in no uncertain terms by both the actors) or her so-called refusal to work with Ranbir (which was again passed off as idle gossip by people close to the actor), Deepika had to face an unnecessary storm when she would have rather spoken about her work.

 In a happy professional scenario that she is currently enjoying with a line up of projects round the corner, she is also (unnecessarily) forced to spend her time and energy in response to insinuations that she could well be dating Siddharth Mallya. For the uninitiated, Siddharth is the son of liquor baron Vijay Mallya who is also the owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore, an IPL team for which Deepika Padukone is the Brand Ambassador.

If I am sitting with the owner of my IPL team, there is no reason why I should be linked up to him”, Deepika flares up the moment this topic of discussion opens up, “If I am the face of the team, isn’t it obvious that I would be sitting up with? I would be there with him supporting my team, right? It’s but obvious that I would also be photographed. But does that mean I am going around with a guy? Come on, let’s grow up. All of this just doesn’t make any sense at all.”

 Perhaps this is also because of her current ‘single status’.

“You know, all of this has become way too predictable”, Deepika forces a smile here, “Every fortnight there is one link up or another. Today, even if I go out with my cousin brother, I am sure to see a headline next morning with announcement of yet another new relationship of mine. Really, it’s all such a big joke now.”

How are her parents reacting to such ‘jokes’? Don’t they get furious when stories about her daughter fill tabloids for all the wrong reasons when instead she should have been in news for the plethora of work that she currently had in hand.

“I think even my parents have really given up now”, she sighs, “There is absolutely nothing for my parents as well to react at all. There are no clarifications required. All they want now is to read about the work that I am doing and this is what they expect from people as well. Of course initially it used to bother them as well me. I used to clarify about these news pieces and everyone would understand that eventually there was no truth in it all. However, now since I have been in the industry for 3 years now, all of us understand that most of the written word is untrue after all.”

 

Ranbir-Anushka not to rock together!

‘Rockstar’ is the next venture from the renowned director Imtiaz Ali (Yes! The same man who made that Shahid-Kareena rom-com ‘Jab We Met’). Ranbir Kapoor is the male protagonist of this film and Anushka Sharma had been picked by Imtiaz to play the lading female.

However, looks like, Anushka (who made her debut opposite Shahrukh ‘King’ Khan) isn’t destined to rock with Ranbir. Coz the buzz is that, Imtiaz’s shrewd eyes has spotted an obscured talent lurking in the fashion industry. Mumbai model Diana Penty has been roped in to play the female lead as Imtiaz thought a fresh face would suit the script better than a known face of Anushka.

A source from Mumbai Mirror says, “There were several rumours about the girl in Imtiaz Ali’s film. Imtiaz had almost finalised Anushka Sharma at one point of time.

However, Imtiaz eventually decided that he wanted a new girl for his film and has finally zeroed down on Diana Penty. Incidentally, Diana has also done an ad film for a mobile service provider with Ranbir and was in the news when she replaced Deepika as a cosmetic brand’s face.

The film is being produced by Ashtavinayaka who also made Jab We Met with Imtiaz. Rockstar is one of Imtiaz’s most ambitious projects.”

After the success and adulations that kissed his face, Imtiaz narrated the script of ‘Rockstar’ to Ranbir who instantly showed his thumbs up. And now, that the heroine has been finalised, the film is expected to go on the floors soon.

Ranbir’s first and last tweet came some eight months ago and Ranbir says that the popularity of the website is a mystery to him. “It’s a mystery to me. I don’t want to tell people ‘I am eating now’, ‘Now I am walking to the bathroom’. I don’t understand the need to share these boring details of my daily routine with the whole world. I don’t think I am interested in Twitter that much,” said Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir says that he would prefer his work to speak for him instead of tweeting. “I prefer to let my work speak for myself and I like to communicate with my fans through the kind of films that I do,” said the actor.

Ranbir’s ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone is a regular on Twitter and had recently met up with Shammi Kapoor for a coffee date after being invited by the veteran actor through the website.

A lot has happened, in your life, since Jab We Met…

True. All for good I guess. I’ve become more mature and responsible, understood my flaws and learned from my mistakes.

And what would they be?

I think we all prefer to keep our flaws and mistakes to ourselves. I learned from them and that’s all that matters. Same with my strengths. So, yeah, life has been good and challenging. I am taking it as it comes.

We also read reports that you are doing Air Force training for Mausam?

Yes. I am playing an Air Force pilot in the film, and I think it is important that I do some background research. It involves a lot of national security issues, but if I get the permission it is nice to learn something.

What is happening with Milenge Milenge?

I have done my part and am promoting the film. I am doing what I am asked to.

 Will you be promoting it with Kareena Kapoor?

I don’t know. If I am asked to, sure.

Would you work with her again?

Nothing has been offered to us yet but yeah, why not?

What about Mausam? The film is already creating quite a buzz…

True. It’s funny but nice that the film is being talked about so much, even before shooting. Shooting starts soon and I’ll be able to talk more about it then.

Shahid looks like Devdas: Sonam Kapoor

Shahid Kapur is a changed man. He has been seen sporting a full-grown beard lately. His facial makeover made Sonam Kapoor, his co- star in the movie Mausam, tweet: “Shahid is looking like a Devdas!”

 Before you start believing, we must say that the look is for Mausam. “The beard is a test-look for Mausam. The shooting will start in two to three weeks and we are trying out different looks to suit the character,” Shahid says.

He tweeted about his beard too. “Starting to get used to the beard… but it’s weird how it takes u into a state of mind… mmmm the power of the beard.” Shahid will play a pilot in the movie.
