Hrithik Roshan makes an entry into the 55th Idea  Filmfare Awards 2009 with a kite. He says, “I’m promoting my film.” Hmm, well, we think you’d have scored if you had hottie and co-star Barbara Mori on your arm, what say?! For now, though, the ponytailed hunk has eyes only for his kite and remarks, “I don’t even know who the nominees are!”

There’s tough competition at the Awards and the nerves are showing for some. Says Deepika Padukone minutes before event, “Obviously, I would want to win, but if you ask me my tough competition, I would say Vidya Balan.” Dev D director Anurag Kashyap roots for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey and 3 Idiots, “one commercial and the other off-beat”.

Amrita Rao is candid and believes only in backing the “Black Lady”! Dia Mirza is all for Big B in Paa and the movie 3 Idiots. She adds, “It’s tough as far as heroines are concerned, maybe both Kareena and Vidya!”

My Word: Deepika has all the right to think of Vidya as competition because Vidya WON the BEST ACTRESS AWARD FOR PAA  (55th Filmfare Awards 2010) Even though Deepika had great movies this year..she couldn’t beat Vidya and her performance in Paa (I have to admit, even though I’m not a huge fan of  Vidya that she was great in Paa!)

Mom has no bias against Shahid:Saif

“It is ridiculous to state that anyone had any personal bias against ‘Kaminey’,” Saif told IANS even as his own movie “Kurbaan” is about to release Friday with an A certificate.But Saif said: “Any talk of personal enmity are completely fictional. I don’t even know the actual people involved who spread such rumours and frankly I don’t care. Such things don’t even enter my radar.” “It’s really rubbish if some people feel so. ‘Kurbaan’ getting an ‘A’ certificate is hardly a fitting reply. It’s a sad state of affairs when people start speculating about everything and anything. As someone who has been part of the industry for long, I don’t take such things seriously,” Saif told IANS. As for “Kaminey”, he said: “I think Vishal (Bharadwaj) is a wonderful filmmaker and I liked everyone’s performance in the film.” Saif himself came up with an award-winning act of Langda Tyagi in Bharadwaj’s “Omkara”. Is it really easy to be oblivious to all talk that his mother may have shown bias? “I hear a lot of things in the 24 hours that I have in a day. This is why I just chuck out whatever is irrelevant. I don’t quite get into the ‘why’ and ‘where’ of affairs till it is absolutely warranted. “I know one has to live with all the negativity around; after all it’s human nature to gossip and speculate. Guess what? Some people think that even Elvis (Presley) is alive today. So conspiracy theories will always remain,” he said. “Kurbaan” has been given an ‘A’ certificate owing to its violent content and also because of erotic scenes picturised on Saif and Kareena. “Kurbaan”, about global terrorism, stars Saif, Kareena and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles. “Kaminey” also got an ‘A’ certificate because of its dark and violent content. Has he ever spoken to Sharmila about the A certificates for “Kurbaan” or “Kaminey”? “No, I don’t talk about any particular movie per se but I do know of her general views and opinions when it comes to censoring a film,” said Saif. “She doesn’t have any problems with anything shown on screen. But, yes, she has problems with things that are shown to children. She will ban something if there is something which is inflammatory. “Of course, she is the right judge of things and may be I don’t know everything that she looks at in a movie during censoring. What I know for sure is that she is a good mother and follows the same caring attitude when it comes to censorship as well,” said Saif. “I know for sure that my mother is a great authority when it comes to the censors. My own ‘Kurbaan’ has got an ‘A’ certificate and I know where she is coming from.” It was insinuated that Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Kaminey” was given an A rating – restricting viewership – as its lead actor Shahid was once in a relationship with Saif’s girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

So Priyanka and Shahid are just friends!!

A few months ago Shahid didn’t come to Priyanka Chopra’s b-day bash and so it looks like they’re wasn’t a love connection just friendship and that’s why he couldn’t make it… I guess Priyanka was right the world would find out if they were dating after Kaminey’s release and it’s official that they’ve went seperate way’s because you don’t see them now a day’s going to functions together, or keeping each others company. They were just co-stars to each other. I wish the best for both Pranks and Shahid in the future whether they end up together or with someone else. I love them both, and they both are great actors! Can’t wait for Shahid’s new movie ‘Chance Pe Dance’ and I absolutely loved ‘What’s Your Raashee?’ I really don’t care if it flopped!!

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor’s torrid relationship may not have survived the wear and tear, as it can be concluded by Shahid’s absence at Priyanka’s birthday bash on Friday night. Mumbai Mirror had reported that the couple has gone their separate ways, and his absence just cements the news. Much can be read into Shahid’s not being part of her special day.

The party was well attended by Priyanka’s friends and relatives. A source said, “It was shocking to find that Shahid was not a part of the celebration. One expected him to come in at least for a few minutes.”

After all, one can always make the time, if the occasion is special enough. The source added, “Priyanka’s cousins, who belong to the same age group, had especially flown down from London to be with the actress on this special day. It’s surprising how Shahid, who is known to be Priyanka’s closest ‘friend’ in the industry, wasn’t seen at Priyanka’s bash.”

She played a good host and mingled with the guests. It was surprising to see her cheerful and unaffected by his absence.

Priyanka and Shahid remained unavailable for comment.

Priyanka wants to work with Saif and Aamir!!

Priyanka Chopra want’s to work opposite the 2 other Khans ,Aamir and Saif, Priyanka did do a Ponds commericial with Saif before though.Well working with Aamir now is okay, but Saif’s beau Kareena might have a problem with Pranks working with her man!! Or maybe they have become good friends…let’s hope!

After working with Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh and Salman, actress Priyanka Chopra now aspires to share the screen with other Khans– Aamir and Saif.

“I have worked with many actors in industry but I never had the chance to star opposite Saif, Aamir and Ajay Devgan so I would love to share screen space with theses actors in my future films,” Priyanka, who is here to participate in Global Film Festival 2009, told reporters.

The actress who is known for portraying challenging roles in films like ‘Fashion’, ‘Kaminey’ and ‘What’s Your Rashee?’ also stated that she has no plans to promote any particular candidate in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

“I am a great admirer of some of the leaders in the country but I don’t want to get involved with politics at this point of my career,” the actress said.

Kareena chooses Saif over IIFA!!

Kareena Kapoor decided to go to with Saif on a tour instead of perform at the IIFA awards! She was supposed to do her famous belly-dance that she was learning for months! Rumors why she dropped out of IIFA :

1) She really loves Saif.

2) Shahid-Priyanka are performing. (Pressure can kill )

3) Kambakkht Ishq is postponed till July 3rd, 2009 so she doesn’t want to do the track sequence!

Whatever the reason may be, Kareena has made her decision, but she not the only one who opted out!!

No wonder Kareena is giving a miss to a stage performance at IIFA to be with her Saifu in England for the ongoing T20 world cup.

Kareena’s business manager has confirmed the lady’s decision to opt out and said it’s because of contractual problems. The buzz is that Kareena wanted her performance to mark the starting or the end of the function. But the organizers had no such plan. The grand finale performance was already booked for the Bachchans, Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya respectively.

Saif, on the other hand, has tied up with T20 to promote his maiden production venture Love Aaj Kal and he will be in England to do the publicity of his movie. And, unsurprisingly, Bebo decided to accompany him despite the fact that she was getting paid a whopping amount for IIFA performance. Not only was she learning belly dancing under Shiamak Davar , but had also finalized her dress for the performance. She was to dance to her song Marjani from ‘Billu’.

Saif too wanted to use the platform of IIFA to promote ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and had thought of an international press meet but later dropped the idea.

Saif and Kareena are not the only ones who have opted out of IIFA. Shahrukh Khan has been giving his royal snub to IIFA for the last many years. Farah Khan also won’t attend the awards night as she’s choreographing a song for SRK in the US. And now, even Akshay Kumar has decided to miss this year’s IIFA as he’s taking his son on a holiday.

The IIFA weekend will be held from June 11 to 13 in Macau
