For the first time an Indian superstar has been invited to the Golden Globe Awards. Shahrukh Khan is expected to present an award at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Golden Globes, organized by Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), is seen as a precursor to the Oscars. This year, for the first time in Golden Globe’s history, there would be Bollywood presence amidst stars from Hollywood and Europe.

Shahrukh, who is presently shooting for Karan Johar‘s My Name Is Khan in Los Angeles, has confirmed receiving an invitation. According to reports, Johar would also accompany SRK to the event on January 11.

As we know by now, one of the major contenders to sweep the board at Golden Globes is Danny Boyle’s film Slumdog Millionare, nominated in four categories, including ‘Best Picture-Drama’, ‘Best Director’ for Boyle and ‘Best Screenplay’ for Simon Beaufoy and ‘Best Original Score’ for A R Rahman .

Rumours are abuzz that SRK may be called to present an award in any of these categories.
