Imran Khan, who was preparing to be a bit of a flirt for one of his next films, needed to draw inspiration.

So, he apparently saw a whole load of Akshay Kumar movies to learn how to be a dil phek (a man who wears his heart on his sleeve). Imran confessed that he loves the way Akshay did his flirtatious numbers in films like Heyy Babyy and even Bhool Bhuliya. And when he had to play a flirt, he knew who he had to ape.

Akshay sinks teeth into Katrina!

30 03 2010

Katrina Kaif’s health problems just don’t seem to end. After several health scares, including a recent one when she fainted on the sets of Tees Maar Khan, on Friday evening Katrina was injured on the film’s sets when Akshay Kumar’s jaw accidently hit her head while shooting a dance sequence at Malshej Ghat.

A source said, “It was a ballet-like dance sequence and Katrina’s head bumped into Akshay’s jaws and his teeth hurt her head badly. Katrina immediately realised the gravity of the injury as director Farah Khan rushed towards her. Since it was a head injury, Katrina felt dizzy for a few minutes but immediate care was taken to make her feel better.

When Akshay saw that Katrina’s head was bleeding due to the impact, he told her that she will have to take at least four stitches. The very thought that she would need stitches made Katrina all the more scared and she almost started crying when Farah stepped in and told Akshay to not scare her anymore.

A doctor was called to the sets to have a look at Katrina’s injury before she left for the day. Akshay couldn’t help but joke that though he is an action hero, it is Katrina who keeps getting injured. First she fainted on the sets, and now this injury.”

Farah Khan remained unavailable for comment as she was shooting in a no network zone in Malshej Ghat. However, the spokesperson of Tees Maar Khan confirmed and said, “Yes, Katrina did get injured badly after which Akshay kept pulling her leg. Katrina is fine now and has resumed shooting.”

No one can match Akshay Kumar:Priyanka Chopra

23 03 2010

Priyanka Chopra last paired with Akshay Kumar in 2005 with their last movie being Waqt. Reports had then said that their relationship had allegedly gone sour.

However, that isn’t stopping Priyanka from showering praises on Akshay whom she replaces as the host of the Indian version of Fear Factor on Colors. Priyanka says she can never match the standards set by Akshay for the show who, with his daredevil stunts and panache, grabbed eyeballs.

“I am not getting into Akshay’s shoes. I am carrying forward his legacy. He has already established the show and set a standard. But I am looking at setting my own standards and the bar will be really high. Akshay is the original khiladi and he loves stunts and doing action sequences. No one can emulate him. He does all the strenuous stunts with such ease that they look perfect. It will be a tough challenge for me to follow up his act but I am ready for it,” says Priyanka, who was reported to be very close to Akshay a few years ago. The actors had vehemently denied those rumours then but did not team up with each other post the gossip.

The news of Priyanka hosting the show also means that she is now fully fit. A few months ago she had fallen ill post which doctors advised her to take rest and not push her body for a few months.

She says, “I am fine. In the next few months I’ll get to do a lot of action stunts. Later this year I start shooting for Don 2 where I have some heavy-duty action sequences. Even in this show I will do all the action routines myself and there is nothing that I have been advised not to do. I love the adrenaline rush I get from doing action sequences and I am looking at pushing my body. It will be great fun.”
