Ranbir is special: Sonam Kapoor !

26 11 2009

She did manage to pick up accolades for her two performances and is being closely watched by the big daddies of cinema because she has talent in abundance… not to mention that ‘it’ quality to make her soar. In one of those off-the-cuff interviews, Sonam talks to BT about her leading men, and her varying chemistry with each of them…

Ranbir Kapoor
My chemistry with Ranbir is special. Ranbir will also always be the most special co-star in my life because he is my first hero. After Saawariya I was offered a couple of films with him but if we haven’t worked together, it is because I’ve decided that when we do team up it must be for something sensational. I don’t want to do a multiple heroine project with him. Both of us must have equal parts.

Imran Khan
Shooting for I Hate Luv Stories is a riot. Imran and I are like two puppies always getting at each other. Our pairing is similar to the Dimple Kapadia-Rishi Kapoor one in Bobby. We’re both young, we’re constantly pulling each others’ legs on the set. It’s a young, fun pairing that is vibrant.

Abhay Deol
He’s a fabulous performer. Aisha wouldn’t be the same without Abhay in it. He keeps feeding me humus with carrots/cucumber. And I find our chemistry similar to the Julia Roberts-Richard Gere one in Pretty Woman. Abhay is more mature and grounded than I am. Also he is very intelligent. I love spending time with him on sets.

Abhishek Bachchan
Well, what can I say? I think I played the perfect Bittu to him in Delhi 6. We haven’t been offered any other film together as yet. Those reports that I was offered Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se before Deepika Padukone signed it, are untrue. Of course, I’d love to work with Abhishek again.

Happy Birthday to SONAM KAPOOR!!!! :) :)

10 06 2009

From Bollywood Entertainment I would just like to shout out to Sonam Kapoor “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!”. We love you Sona! 🙂 🙂

Today is the birthday of the most brittle and delicate actress who spells class with a capital C. She is none other than Sonam Kapoor, the darling daughter of Anil Kapoor. We are sure that after her superlative performances in Saawariya and Delhi 6, her house will be overflowing with gifts and bouquets galore. Amidst all these zillion gifts, Bollywood  Entertainment would like to gift the petite Sonam Kapoor with something that we are sure, she will treasure the most: A walk down memory lane with photographs to drip that eternal tear rolling down the cheek…

This snap has the ageless wonder Anil Kapoor alongwith the two apples of his eyes: Sonam’s sister Rhea and ‘badi didi’ Sonam herself! Who would have ever though that this ‘badi didi’ and also Papa’s girl will eventually go onto become the dream girl of zillions of people worldwide!

Not many know that Sonam, besides being a cool actress is also an intellectual person. Proof of which lies in the fact that she had enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International Baccalaureate. After that, she later graduated from the University of Bombay, majoring in Political Science and Economics. Not just that, before starting her career off as an actress, she even worked as an assistant under Sanjay Leela Bhansali and assisted during the making of his film Black.

Sonam to preform at the next IFFA function!!!

7 05 2009

Yes! Finally we’ll get a chance to see Sonam Kapoor rock it Live!! I alway’s wanted her to do it and I hope it’s true!! Reports have it that the IFFA organizers her want her IN!!!

Wanna spot an interesting fact about IFFA? Every year, the highlighting attributes for the grandiloquent awards ceremony would be newcomers performing on the podium. Glimpse through the previous occasions, it’s been more evident with Hrithik’s show in Sun City in 2001, Abhishek Bachchan performing with his dad and Ash for ‘Kaira Re’. Previous year, Harman Baweja dazzled with his ‘Milona Milo’ of Love Story 2050 with Priyanka Chorpa.

So, it would be exquisitely tremendous this time as the young sensational missy will shake her legs for interesting numbers. Although, Sonam made her debut in B-Town before couple of years in ‘Saawariya’, the actress didn’t pick the stage offers. Know why? She has a very very big DARR about stage shows.

Nevertheless, Sonam has been vividly encouraged by her close paisano Abhishek Bachchan and Andre (Wizcraft) that lets her pitch for the debut show.

This would be not just the actress’ first show performance on stage but her first ever trip to Macau (From 60Kms South West of Hong Kong)…

We didn’t teach acting to Ranbir:Neetu Singh Kapoor

3 05 2009

Here’s an interview with one of the biggest star in Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, Neetu Singh Kapoor.

(IANS) Her son is a star and she too is making a comeback with “Do Dooni Chaar” after more than two decades, but Neetu Singh says that neither she nor her actor husband Rishi Kapoor has ever tried to coach Ranbir despite having so many years of experience in Bollywood.

“This is something that we were very sure about since the very beginning of Ranbir’s career. He has been doing his own stuff. ‘Saawariya’ as well as ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ have shown that he has been making smart choices and succeeding quite well,” Neetu Singh told IANS.

“We never thought of teaching acting to Ranbir. Whatever he has done, he has done on his own. Of course, whenever he has needed any help, we have always been there just like any other parents would be. But beyond that it’s always up to him on how he wants to interpret a character and portray it on the screen,” she added.

However, the family has been sharing a healthy interaction over the years as Bollywood has been a part of their blood.

“We do talk about movies most of the time and over the years whenever a film has released, regardless of which actor stars in it, we have spoken about it”, she said.

“It could have been a dining table conversation where we would have collectively critiqued a film. It could be positive or constructive talk about a film and along with Ranbir we have got into discussions around the way a particular scene unfolds or an actor performs,” Neetu said.

So which of her husband’s performances would she rate the highest over the years?

” ‘Chandni’ and ‘Damini’,” she replied promptly. “He has been very good in dozens of films over the last 40-odd years, but from the recent lot of his films, these two films are closest to my heart. These were difficult roles, especially ‘Damini’ where he had such a huge predicament to face. And he played this role to perfection,” Neetu said.

One of the popular actresses of the 1970s and 1980s, Neetu featured in a string of hits like “Khel Khel Mein”, “Priyatama”, “Deewar”, “Kala Patthar”, “Doosra Admi” and “Kabhi Kabhie”.

Years after her last big film “Yaarana” (1981) with Amitabh Bachchan, she would now be seen in “Do Dooni Chaar” along with Rishi Kapoor. What made her take the plunge?

“Frankly, there were offers over the years, but we all were so busy in our things,” she smiled. “Then my daughter Riddhima got married while Ranbir too began his acting career. This is when this exciting film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ came up and I was game for the comeback. The film is a meaningful light-hearted entertainer where Rishi-ji plays a mathematics teacher while I play his wife and a mother of two grown-up kids.”

Directed by Habib Faisal, “Do Dooni Chaar” would be releasing in the latter half of 2009.

Love trouble for Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone??..Again!!

26 04 2009

We alway’s here Ranbir-Deepika fighting over this and that..but when I read this article it somehow seemed so true! Well, who knows what’s really going on with these two.

A close pal of the couple reveals, “Last week Deepika was to join Ranbir for going to Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani’s birthday party late at night. Since she got stuck due to her work commitments (shooting of Excel Entertainment’s Kartik Calling Kartik), Ranbir told her he would go alone to the party. But despite telling her so, he didn’t go there. Instead he chose to attend another party that had his debut film Saawariya heroine Sonam Kapoor and her good friend Kunal Kapoor.

“He didn’t tell this to Deepika who was well under the impression for days that he was at Tarun’s party. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu too came in for the bash. When Deepika came to know about Ranbir’s lie, it is learnt that she lambasted him over the phone while he kept giving her excuses such as how it was all a last minute change in his plan etc.”

Also, just days back, Ranbir’s sister Riddhima told to a news channel journo on TV that she doesn’t think Deepika is Ranbir’s girlfriend and that she knows Deepika only as one of his good friends.

Ranbir Kapoor grows a beard!!!

25 04 2009

Ranbir Kapoor always say’s that he wants to reach new heights and be as great as his grandfather, Raj Kapoor.  So in Saawariya he dared to bare, in Bachna Ae Haseeno he kissed 3 girls, and now in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani he’s growing a beard!! Only time will tell what he does next.

Ranbir Kapoor will don the look of a Sikh in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti, opposite Katrina Kaif. “I am playing a Sardar in the film and have even grown beard to make my character look real,” says Kapoor.

He was all praises for his co-star Katrina Kaif who plays a shrewd politician. Kapoor asserts, “She is really hardworking and like any other Bollywood actress, she talks in Hindi even on the sets.” Kapoor feels blessed to have worked with “such a big star and at such an early stage in my career.”

Friends forever
Talking about his girlfriend Deepika Padukone, from whom the actor takes “suggestions on his looks, hairdo and films,” Kapoor states, “We do have conversations about both our personal and professional lives but the ultimate decision lies with the individual.”

On Imran Khan, with whom he reportedly shares a crackling chemistry after their pairing at an award function, Kapoor says, “During the awards function, we got to know each other better and our friendship has reached another level now.”

The two are considering projects together but nothing that he can talk about right now. A film production company with Imran is also on the anvil, Kapoor says.
