Celeb Diary from Filmfare!

4 06 2010

Filmfare brings to you the imagined day-to-day confessions of your favourite female celebrities. Read On. With my little comments below each actresses statement!!

Kareena KapoorKareena Kapoor

Dear Diary,
I love myself. I just saw the teaser of Milenge Milenge and I feel the timing is pathetic. You think the makers of this film are playing a nasty prank on me? Anyway, I’m looking quite hot in the promos, so I should care less.
While interviewing me an anchor asked if I was secretly married to Saifu. I wanted to slap her, but I was live on national Television, so I just gave her my fake laughter and ignored the question.
Karan put up my picture on his Twitter account and titled it as ‘My favourite girl!’ Isn’t that awesome? I’m so cool! I love myself.
Going out for dinner with Saifu. Will be back and give you updates. Tata! I Love Myself.

My Comments (AlishaKhan) Um..okay..Kareena a little vicious today, why? Um & what’s with the whole ” timing is pathetic” of milenge milenge..well Bebo..as much as I love you..WAKE UP..your the reason of the delay!!

 Katrina KaifKatrina Kaif

Dear Diary,
Aap Kaisaa ho? Erm. Did I get that right?  Sorry if I didn’t. I’m so frustrated. Even my tutors have given up on me. My co-actors make fun of my diction on the sets. The other day I was rehearsing a scene and I don’t know what I exactly said but everyone around me was secretly laughing.
Dubbing is easy though. I usually read the dialogues from the script and the sound guy matches it with the shot. Directors should find a way like that. Don’t you think?

My Comment: Katrina we love you!!! And even if you can’t speak fluent hindi, you’re trying and that’s all that matters + you’re beautiful and are a great actress!! 🙂

 Bipasha BasuBipasha Basu

Dear Diary,
Sorry I did not write in for the last 3 days. Actually, last week I attended a friend’s birthday bash and hogged chocolate cake and chips there. I had a lot of aerated drinks too (they were short of sugar free tablets).  Result: I put on 2 Kgs in one night. You know how obsessed I am with keeping fit. Thus, for the last 3 days I was working out in the gym. My weight machine says I’ve lost 4 Kgs and now I’m feeling better than ever. John’s happy too. Not that he really cares. But I do!

My Comment: Love the part where Bips says ” John’s happy too. Not that he really cares”..they’re both such a cute couple. And congrats on loosing the weight Bips 🙂

Aishwarya RaiAishwarya Rai

Dear Diary,
Just attended the Raavan promotional event. I was camouflaged by Ram and Raavan. I have to admit, my face was green. For all the cruelties my character goes through in the movie, it should’ve been named Sita.
I am bored of my Barbie-like demeanor, but Mani sir has promised that perception will change. He says people will love the proud Barbie in Raavan. Should I be happy with that?

My Comment: Um.. you should and shouldn’t..actually I have to see the movie to give an honest opinion..so No comment!

Priyanka ChopraPriyanka Chopra

Dear Diary,
I’m tired of people calling me Piggy Chops. Even at events when people invite me on stage they introduce me as Piggy Chops. Dude! Get a Life. I have a name.
Everyone wants to know when I will get into a steady relationship. Even I want to know that!
It’s mindless to link me with my co-actors because I’ve always been caught up between these bromances in movies that it’s highly unlikely. And the link-up story with me and Harman. I guess that’s possible only in 2050!

My comment: I don’t like the tittle “Piggy Chops” on Priyanka either but I love calling her “Pranks” but I agree with Priyanka, we should respect her name she has a REAL one you know. And on the Harman thing about maybe in 2050, kinda harsh but i wish it was sooner, because they’re so cute! 🙂

 Rani MukherjeeRani Mukherjee

Dear Diary,
I don’t know where my career graph is heading. Actually, I’m not even sure if I have a career graph anymore!
Directors have started taking my performance in Black way too seriously. Now-a-days they approach me with Braille scripts and before I can explain, they start enacting me from the movie and ask for “Waa- ahh- ttt- err.”
Also, I’m desperately looking for a voice makeover. I’m trying various concoctions and capsules to smoothen out my hoarse voice. Do you know if there is anything such as a voice cosmetic surgery?

My Comment: Rani we love your voice..it makes you, you!!

Sonam KapoorSonam Kapoor

Dear Diary,
I’m so excited about my next movie, I Hate Love Stories. Let me tell you a funny story. Recently, we were shooting in New Zealand and I fell into cow dung. The crew had quite a laugh at my expense.
The other day I was invited to a radio station to promote my film. And for some reason, they had got pigeons into the studio. I don’t exactly know what they were thinking.

My comment: Can’t wait for the movie either!!! I hate luv storys will surely rock the theatres and become a huge hit. Sona-Imu pairing is cute even though I like Sona with Biru more. Love ya Sona 🙂 ❤

Preity ZintaPreity Zinta

Dear Diary,
IPL ended on a bad note. And I’m tired of flashing my plastic smile on television saying “there’s always a next time”. I’m so disappointed in my boys you know. If next year they continue their dismal form, I would probably land up on the field and play instead.
Today a woman took me by surprise when she jumped on me with her camera and that too in a public toilet. I love my fans but this kind of behaviour is quite unacceptable. Ting!

My comment: I agree with Preity, I hate people with cameras shooting pictures randomly..kinda annoying!!

AsinAsin

Dear Diary,
I always knew people would link me with my co-actors. That’s normal. But the media has started spreading rumors about me and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. That’s ridiculous. I think I was better off in the south. Well, not really. I’m happy working in Hindi films but I’m tired of these link-ups. Now I refuse to talk about relationships and DHONI in any of my interviews. I’m so homely. Why don’t people get it?

My Comment: Leave Asin alone media!! She’s a Southern girl with values just like the rest of the actresses so give Dhoni another girl!

KajolKajol

Dear Diary,
8:00 – Breakfast for Kids and Ajay
2:00 – Lunch for Kids and Ajay
4:00 – Tea and snacks for Kids and Ajay
8:00 – Dinner for Kids and Ajay
10:00 – Lullaby for kids and Ajay. Oops, only the kids

My Comment: Kajol’s entery the cutest..Ajay and her are happily married and that’s nice!

I’d rather be fully Indian: Deepika

16 05 2010

Now the story can be told. You know, don’t you, that the gorgeous Deepika Padukone shimmered down the red carpet at Cannes on Friday wearing a saree by designer Rohit Bal.

There’s a reason why she chose the Indian national costume for her first major international appearance. The actress told BT from the French Riviera, “When I started modelling, I promised myself that whenever I attend an international event, I’d wear a saree and not western clothes. I get enough opportunities at home to wear western clothes. When I’m seen at an international event I’d rather be fully Indian.”

She cleverly declined to comment on the fact that Cannes regular Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appeared on the red carpet in a gown. “I wouldn’t like to comment on others,” said Deepika, adding that she finds the saree very sensuous and “it felt good to be so Indian so far away from home”. However, the goss is that Cannes first-timer Deepika had made discreet inquiries about what Ash would be wearing before deciding her own look. No matter, the two lovely Indian actresses made spectators’ day at the film festival by proving that variety is indeed the spice and curry of life.

Her moment on the red carpet aside, Deepika apparently has not found Cannes exciting enough. She said she hardly met anyone at the film festival except German F1 superstar Michael Schumacher and caught just one film, the French Tournee, which she enjoyed. So, on Day 2, Deepika set off on her own to take in the sights and sounds of the scenic seaside town. “There’s so much to Cannes besides the festival,” she said. “The first time I came here was in 2002. Not for the festival but as a tourist. And I remember standing outside the venue and taking pictures. I had promised myself that next time… I’d be back as part of the film festival… and here I am.”

The Maharani had exquisite taste:Priyanka

24 02 2010

Priyanka Chopra was recently hosted by international fashion industry legend Salvatore Ferragamo’s son Leonardo in Italy.

Leonardo even threw a lavish lunch and dinner in her honour. Priyanka thus became the first Indian actor to have been invited into the Salvatore household. However, the first Indian to be honoured by Salvatore was the Maharani of Cooch Behar, Indira Devi.

When asked if she has looked at the memento the Rani had left behind to adorn the Italian fashion museum, Priyanka says, “Yes, I did! The maharani had exquisite taste and I did get to see a beautiful crystal encrusted sandal that was made especially for her. It is truly an honour to share the same space with her.”

Speaking about her experience of dining with Leonardo, Priyanka says, “It was a wonderful evening. The setting was beautiful and there was a wonderful sit-down dinner with a fabulous authentic Italian meal. The entire trip was very memorable. From a visit to the museum to getting my feet measured to a private dinner hosted specially for me, it was all very magical.”

Nowadays, Indian actors like Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Frieda Pinto are stamping their presence on the global map. Priyanka says, “The world has woken up to what we are and the powerhouse of talent that exists within us. Indian women are not just beautiful but intelligent too. We definitely stand out in a crowd.”

Ash to launch jewellery line!

18 02 2010

There are many things that come with the territory when you wear the title of being one of the most beautiful women in the world. And that is exactly the case with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who won the Femina Miss India World title in 1994.

Ever since then, Ash has dominated the endorsement and film brigade. After having endorsed international jewellery and high fashion product lines, one hears that Ash will design her own jewellery line. Or rather, reports say that the proposal has been put forward to her for serious consideration.

Ash who has a keen eye for aesthetics is said to be contemplating putting her own jewellery line in the market soon. Bollywood already has some very well known women with their jewellery lines. There is Neelam Kothari, Farah Khan Ali (sister of Sussanne Khan) and Maheep Kapoor. Ash is expected to be the latest name (and obviously when she does launch her jewellery line) the biggest one! Ash couldn’t comment on the news because she is on a high dose of antibiotics, having developed a fever and a bad throat. And, there are strict do not disturb instructions from her doctors.

Unwell Ash visits grandma-in-law.

17 02 2010

For Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, her relationships seem to score over everything – so much so that even though she was unwell, she travelled to Bhopal to celebrate the 80th birthday of her husband Abhishek Bachchan’s maternal grandmother.

According to a source close to Aishwarya, this was a commitment the couple had made to Abhishek’s ‘nani’ (maternal grandmother) a while ago. And despite the high fever and sore throat that she has been suffering from since a few days, Aishwarya made sure she was there to fulfil her promise.

“Aishwarya is much much better, but still not 100 percent (fine). But she’s my nani’s favourite so she made the trip too. Should be back to fighting fit… in a day or two,” Abhishek posted on social networking site Twitter.

The actor says his grandmother’s expression on seeing both of them was “priceless”.

“Made a surprise trip to Bhopal last night (Monday). Was my nani’s 80th birthday! Her expression was priceless. All her grandchildren flew in from all over. My sister, our cousins all meeting after so long. Now everyone partaking in an old Indian habit, all sitting together… Eating, drinking and catching up!

“My nani, of course, is back to being the matriarch! Making sure all her  children are well fed and taken care of and doing what grandmoms do… feeding,” he added

Ash, Priyanka..Who’s next??

8 02 2010

Well, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who’s given hit films like Singh is Kingg and Namastey London and National Award winner Madhur Bhandarkar are doing just that by associating themselves with Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2010. The directors will identify, mentor and launch two Miss India finale contestants in their respective and upcoming films. Now if that doesn’t motivate the girls, what will!

But if you thought only the beauty pageant’s contestants would be excited, think again. Even the directors are geared up to find the face they would like to be the next sensation. Vipul believes that this initiative is like a reward for the girls for the efforts they are going to put in. “Most of them take part in this  pageant so that they can become part of Hindi cinema. So this makes it a clear cut process for us as well as for them,” he says. Agrees Madhur, “I have been on the panel of this pageant thrice and I think it’s great that we can now pick and choose the girls according to the characters we have in mind.”
Working with former Miss Indias has given the directors an idea of what to expect when they work with these newcomers. Vipul, who is currently shooting with the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Action Replayy, believes that Ash is the epitome of what this contest has to offer. “She’s made a name for herself nationally as well as internationally and is a great role model for Miss India hopefuls,” he says. Working with ex-Miss World Priyanka Chopra, who shone in Madhur’s critically acclaimed Fashion, was a pleasure for the director. “She is a very talented actress who not only won popular awards but even the National Award for her role,” he adds.
As for what they have in mind when it comes to choosing the right girl for their films , both directors have different takes. While Madhur, who’s films are being recognised and shown worldwide, says he would be looking for the character in each of the girls, Vipul says that she will have to be the full package of looks, ability to perform and to connect with the audience. “I would leave it to my instinct. I hope I find somebody who rings my bell!” he smiles. We’re sure the PFMI contestants wouldn’t mind doing that!
